Sex and the City sequel movie will address the credit crunch

SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S character may have to tone down her lust for labels in the Sex and the City sequel after the actress revealed the movie will address the credit crunch.

She said: “How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?”

“How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way?

“There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges.”

But lack of luxury won’t mean a shortage of fun, promised the star.

“I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp.”

Sarah Jessica Parker says the next 'Sex and the City' movie will be a "romp".

The actress, who is set to reprise her role as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw, wants the script to be packed with steamy scenes and funny storylines.

She said: "I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp."

Parker also refused to give away what will happen next for Carrie and her new husband Mr. Big - played by Chris Noth.

She added: "In a million years I'm not going to give you an indication. I want someone to show up that first weekend."

The 43-year-old actress - who will team up again with Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon for the next big screen installment - admits the movie will have to be sensitive to the growing global financial crisis.

Parker explained to US TV host Bully Bush: "How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?

"There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges."

Sarah Jessica Parker claims her knees are "shot" from constantly wearing high heels in 'Sex and the City'.

The 42-year-old actress, who starred in the hit US TV show as columnist and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw for six years, claims teetering around in her character's trademark stiletto heels has taken its toll on her body.

She told Elle magazine: "I used to spend 18 to 20 hours a day filming in heels and now I spend a much shorter day in them and I'm thinking, 'Oww!'

"I've totally destroyed my body by running and dancing in heels. My knees are shot."

The actress recently celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with husband Matthew Broderick and admits she hates looking back at photos of her big day - because she made the wrong outfit choice.

The style icon reveals, "Our logic was we didn't want to draw attention to ourselves that day, because we're actors and we get attention all day long. It was a party for everybody else.

"Matthew bought a suit off the rack and I bought the first dress I looked at.

I wish I had worn white."

Kim Cattrall Unsure Of Sex And The City Movie

Kim Cattrall is unsure if the Sex And The City movie will happen, after recent reports suggested a script was being written.

Cattrall has spent the last few years doing filming and theatre work outside of the U.S. and when she returned late last year, she discovered the team and her former Satc co-stars were all interested in making a movie of the sassy sex comedy.

When asked if the movie was happening, Cattrall says, "We hope so. Availabilities have been checked. Nothing is specific."

Sarah - who is married to fellow actor Matthew Broderick - said: "He's very interested in what being gay is because so many of our friends are gay.

"When talking around your child you have to think very carefully and you have to be prudent about you're choice of words. You talk about people looking for happiness and fulfillment in their lives and how all families are different and look different.

"You're forced to really consider your answers. You're forced to think a lot about what you're saying and how you're saying it - even the tone."
