Eddie Murphy &his girlfriend Tracey Edmonds Are Engaged To Be Married

The 'Shrek' star proposed last Wednesday (25.07.07) with a "massive" Cartier yellow diamond engagement ring.

Edmonds proudly showed off the ring at lunch with friends the next day at the W Hotel in Westwood, California.

A source said: "She looked very happy. She was proudly showing off the ring. They're very adorable together, very happy. It will be a private wedding. Something low key, but very romantic."

Murphy and Edmonds are said to be planning to tie the knot before the end of the year.

Edmonds' representative said: "Tracey and Eddie were engaged last Wednesday. They are both very much in love and are excited about spending the rest of their lives together."

Geri Halliwell's Gold Gift To Mel B

Geri Halliwell has bought Mel B a £7,000 necklace to celebrate Eddie Murphy being named father of her daughter.

Geri was said to be ecstatic when DNA tests proved the Hollywood comic is three-month-old Angel Iris' father and wanted to give Mel a gift to celebrate.

A source said: "Being a mother herself, Geri really felt for Mel during her ordeal and designed a special diamond and white gold necklace as soon as she heard the good news."

Earlier this week, a paternity test revealed Eddie was Angel Iris' dad.

The 'Dreamgirls' star, who already has five children, had consistently denied he was the father.

Eddie Murphy Is The father Of Mel B's Baby

Mel Brown 32, was given the news in LA yesterday from the Beverly Hills Clinic where Mr.Murphy had been ordered by a court to take a DNA test earlier this month.

Murphy had consistently denied he was the father of Browns second child Angel Iris.

But Murphy, who split with the former Spice girl during her pregnancy, insisted he would 'do the right thing' if the child did prove to be his.

Three-month-old Angel will be the Shrek stars seventh child.

A source told Britains Sun newspaper "It is such a relief that this is finally over." adding "Mel has known all along that Eddie is the father and can’t believe it has taken a paternity test to prove it. She is delighted the truth is out there now and she can get back to concentrating on being a mum."

Sources close to the singer claim she will demand financial support to bring Angel up saying "Mel is determined to make sure Angel has the best support possible. She is Eddie’s daughter and he should be responsible for her upbringing."
